Also are the taxi drivers trusted to take you to&from the airport? I would like a cheap, centrally located place to stop. What is the average price of food&drink?

  1. There are lots of hotels in the center of Wrocław, some are great but expensive thou.

If you are looking for a cheaper accommodation, stay in a hostel.

    For example:

    http://www.wroclawhostel.pl/

I live in Wrocław and the location of this hostel is max 10 min walking to the center, really close to a new mall and easy access to buses and trams.

PS. I have never stayed there so cannot say if it is OK.

About taxis, you will prob pay about 50-70 PLN from the airport to the center. Better get a bus just out of the airoprt - 30-40 min driving.

    Young people DO speak English.

  2. Hi!

If you look on www.trivago.co.uk you can compare the prices of many hotels in Wroclaw in order to find the cheapest option as they work with most of the leading hotel websites.

You can also use a function where you can make sure that your hotel is close to the city centre or another attraction and see what hotel websites and other people think about the hotel.

  3. well i would book somewhere

    I would take a bus

Heres what i know about polish taxis

    - some of them dont follow the taxi payment prices

    - before you choose a taxi look at all the windows in one of the windows there is a white sticker that says how much it costs

    - THEY CAN NOT SPEAK ENGLISH

    - you have to tell them where you wana go so get a good dictionary

  4. I'm often using a taxi in Wroclaw. To go to any place in City Centre they shouldn't charge you more then 100 zloty's. Don't ever say that you're in Wroclaw first time so they won't overcharge you. Have a nice time:D

  5. With regards to accommodation.  I often use this website when travelling.

    http://www.hostelbookers.com/.

You can book rooms through them or you can just use the website to find addresses and numbers of hostels.  It has prices, maps and ratings from other travellers.

A good website for costs of food and drink is http://www.tefl.com/home/col_survey.html... but you have to register.  Prices seem to be similar to those in the UK.

    I hope this is helpful.

  6. Hostels are your best bet for accommodation. Try these:

    http://www.nathansvilla.com/wroclaw.html

    http://www.cinnamonhostel.com/index_en.h...

    http://www.avantgardehostel.pl/EN/index....

Do not spend lots of money on taxis. Use the airport bus.

A good meal at a mall food court is 20-30 zlotys; a bottle of coke is 3-4 zlotys; same for beer (although draught beer at a pub is more expensive).
