I am looking for housing near the university of ottawa (either a 1 or 2 bedroom one). It should be about 10minutes walk to the university. Any ideas which is a good area, street near the university? Also what are the price ranges? I would prefer utilities included.

  1. When I went to U of O (1990-1994) I rented an apt. in a house on Guigues Ave.  It was about a 10 - 15 min walk and wasn't too bad unless it was very icy.

I have no idea what prices would be like today.

  2. The University of Ottawa is just south of the Byward Market in an area called Sandy Hill.

The Byward Market is one of the main areas for nightlife. The other is Elgin St which is not far from Ottawa U to the west.

Sandy Hill is divided into two parts. Half of it is kind of sketchy the other half is very nice.

There is a new building that is at the north west corner of Ottawa U near King Edward that is very nice. It is fairly new.

You can live in the Market and walk. It will put you closer to the nightlife but in winter it would be a pain.

    www.ottawaliving.ca might be of help.

I have no idea on price. I'm very picky so the only places I looked at were $2k/month+

  3. Here's a place to start:  off-campus housing

  4. I'm looking for housing in the same area right now actually. For the past week I've been trolling Craigslist and and the U of O student housing billboard https://web5.uottawa.ca/rezweb/search.ph...  Have you tried those?
