Good question, its the international date line just opposite to the prime meridian. If you look at the date line it curves around lot of islands. very interesting to see.

It is called the International Date Line, which lies along the Pacific Ocean. When you cross this line from west to east, you gain a day. When you cross it from east to west, you lose a day.

In absolute terms, you can never be more than 12 hours apart.
