  1. In Biblical days, if the Bible is your thing, all marriages would have been abusive by todays standards!

  2. i read an article in christian magazine that says there are three reasons for divorce, 1/ marital unfaithfulness, 2/ beleiver with a non beleiver, 3/ hard heartedness. i fully agree with it, i beleive abusive spouse is being unfaithful, but it depends on the type and severity of the abuse. if you cannot sit down and talk about it like adults then a seperation may be neccessary and if things can not be worked out then divorce is the only option, would like to talk more give me a e-mail.

  3. I don't think God's plan was for you to get beat downs! Get out!

  4. In the Bible the only acceptable reason for a divorce is adultery.  However, you can get a legal separation in the case of abusive, non-support and other cases.

  5. Nothing can justify an abusive marriage

  6. divorce is not good but if he is not doing his part to keep the family right you have no choice but to do what is right for you and your kids.  If you have put effort into trying to get him right and it not work then do what you must.

  7. Technically, you are supposed to separate first.  The abusive spouse can either get with someone else (ie adultery) or change their behavior and then continue the marriage.  If the spouse does adultery then you can divorce.

I think the reason why marriage is really difficult to break up in Bible standards is to prevent people divorcing and remarrying and having blended and messed up families.

Chances are if you divorce this guy, people typically marry the same type of guy a few years later!

  8. Does it matter?

  9. Everyone's interpretation of the Bible is different. I am sure God would not agree to one human being abusing another. Read between the lines and find a safer haven to live in. Trust your own judgement, that's why we are all individuals.

  10. Don't believe the c**p you read, the moron who wrote that rubbish is an abuser

  11. No.  Adultery is the common reason given for biblical justification for divorce.  But we have not understood adultery in a true biblical sense.  Adultery is more than having s*x with someone other than your partner.  Adultery also means to corrupt, degrade or injure.  Certainly abuse does this to a marriage.  God Bless.

  12. it certainly wasn't god's intention that u be beaten and abused, god wants us to be happy and live well.

  13. I believe in the Bible, and I believe that God's word is in it, but after all, it was written by man.

God doesn't want you to suffer, he wants you to be happy, and back in those days, divorce didn't exist, and our current society either.

Just leave the marriage, God is with you, no matter what!!!

  14. No!! In the bible the main messages are respect, love, abuse is no way of love. Just think about the bible as a whole not individual parts. And when the bible was written there was no marriage as we use it today.

    GET OUT!!

  15. divorce can be any reason. For the case, the partner only talk when you are talking. When you are tired and want comfort, you can't get it from him/her. So i think this marriage has failed its purpose, so best is dovorce.
