  2. what it all boils down to is desire.  to be devoid of desire means you want or crave nothing, you realize that all things that you need are already provided to you, and to search for the middle ground in all things.  that is what i have come to understand from speaking with Buddhist

  4. Budda say: follow Jesus

  5. I know it sounds paradoxical, but the Buddha taught that we achieve true happiness and fulfillment by completely letting go of all self-interest.

Most of us live in a cave of self-absorption, completely tied up with our own thoughts, feelings, sensations, ideas, fears, and desires.

When we let go of all these mental phenomena, we enter into the bright world all around us. And, because we no longer focus on our own small concerns, we can live in ways that benefit the world around us.

In Buddhism, this transformation is known as enlightenment.

And enlightenment is right at hand for each human being, if we could only turn into it. Fortunately, the Buddha also provided the tools for turning toward enlightenment: meditation, chanting, bowing, study and other practice techniques.

Given the great suffering in our own lives, and in the world around us, what could be more important than to achieve this transformation ourselves?
