  1. Its between 200 and 160k actually.

    Plenty of time for civs in the remote ancient world to have risen and fallen....

    10k is nothing in the scheme of 200k.  That means the first technologically advanced civilization could have risen as far in the past as 150k years ago.

    Who knows, maybe we humans have nuked ourselves into the stone age several times, and perhaps it was not nature, but nukes which brought in the ice ages.  Nuclear winter I hear, is cruel and long lasting.
