  1. Wow, I never thought someone who liked ferrets could be such a lying pathetic whiny crybaby.

    Typical of foreigners.

Jealousy is a m**o and just because most foreigners give you thumbs down for being a petty liar doesn't mean they are American LOL.  Get a clue, not even foreigner agree with that bull you spew.

    Nobody likes a liar.

  2. The official site has it in both ranking in gold and ranking in total medal count. I don't understand your question.

  3. Nations don't win the Olympics. The Olympics are a gathering of athletes from different countries. The athletes win the medals and represent the countries. But the countries don't win the medals.

The medal count table is created by the media to generate additional interest. If the general viewing public wasn't interested in it then the medal table wouldn't not be kept. But the individual medals will still be awarded.

Why does it matter? Don't we celebrate ALL of the athletes? Yes it's fun to root for the athletes from our home country but we're still celebrating the athletes not the countries.

    Good question and articles.

    Enjoy!

  4. The system recognised by every country in the world with the exception of the USA is that whoever has the most GOLD medals tops the table, if however USA had more gold medals than China but less medals overall then they would still by USA media standards still be top as the USA are very bad losers and cannot due to their arrogance accept that someone might be better than them, it's a wonder that any country that dared to enter an athlete that beat them in an event hasn't been declared part of an Axis of Evil because that by beating them you are at best not with them and as we all know if your not with the USA then by their logic you're against them, is it any wonder the whole world hates America ??

I take it by the amount of thumbs down Y!Answers is full of americans at the moment ? What's up with you lot, truth hurts does it ?

  5. America has the best athletes.  China may have more gold medals, but they also have several million children locked into state run athletics farms.  Plus look at the events that China is winning gold in.....ping pong, men's synchronized diving, under-aged girls team gymnastics....wtf?  These are the gayest sports ever.

  6. well really there is no one country that wins the olympics, only the athletes...and yeah coming from an american, its cool that we have a lot of silver and bronze but really gold is what everyone goes for, so i would say china is winning

  7. If you search here:http://answers.yahoo.com/search/search_r...

this question is asked about 56 times a day, including some less than 1 or 2 pages back. Why the need to ask the same question over and over again.

The Americans have always tallied the medals up that way, tally them up however you want, nobody cares except you.  There is no Official winner.

  8. Well I guess we can conclude America is ranked first in America and China is ranked first in the World.

Edit: I wonder how anyone could give me thumbs down when I speak absolute truth. Denial anyone? And to prove to you people who still are in denial, here are links, first from American sources and then sources from around the world. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the truth CAN set you free.
