Mexico has counties (municipalities) with higher HDI (human development Index) than the richest European Countries and USA. But in the other hand, has some counties with such HDI lower than Tanzania and some african countries....How we get in to this, and what we should do to change this scary stats?...

  1. If you look at how it is calculatted  it is easy to see how a city with an educatioed poplulaion  whould exceed  that of most countries.

    The HDI combines three basic dimensions:

        * Life expectancy at birth, as an index of population health and longevity

        * Knowledge and education, as measured by the adult literacy rate (with two-thirds weighting) and the combined primary, secondary, and tertiary gross enrollment ratio (with one-third weighting).

        * Standard of living, as measured by the natural logarithm of gross domestic product (GDP) per capita at purchasing power parity (PPP) in United States dollars.
