Account for target card?

I applied for a Target card and it says it needs further processing so i will get a response in the mail in 2 weeks

I am a card holder for my husbands account is this why? I want my own account not on his

Nine times out of ten it's because you didn't get approved.  The letter they send will probably give you reason as to why.  You might want to check out your credit reports to be sure there aren't any derogatory entries on them.  Statistics show that up to 75% of all credit reports have at LEAST one error on them.

I used to work at Target so that 2 weeks usually comes up for a couple reasons:  more info is needed or the application was denied.  

If you are an authorized user on your husband's account, then it shouldn't matter.  If you are a co-applicant on that other card, then they won't probably give you two cards.

Also, many stores are being more stingy with credit with the current market activity whereas a year ago, getting a card was much easier.
