Acer Aspire 3662 laptop

Question

The family have 2 of these laptops and both experiencing sound problems. They have been reset back 2x which solves problem but removes all additional information/programmes gathered along the way. IS THERE A SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM. Laptops now out of warranty and sick of resetting back to beginning all the time. Can you help please - this is costing me money! Many thanks.
