Acer Aspire 3680 series laptop...battery..?

Question

My sister has an Acer Aspire 3680 series laptop and is having a problem with it.

Her dog chewed up the charger a while ago, like 6 months or so. So basically, it hasn't been charged in that long..she finally got a universal charger for it but it wont charge. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance :)

make sure the universal charger is the same power rating as the old one, you can also check the bottom of the laptop to make sure the power numbers jive, if they do insure the polarity is proper the chart for that is usually imprinted somewhere on the laptop
