Acer aspire 9300 vista rig is selective about DVD playback?

Question

Yes, this problem has me stumped!! our vista rig will only play DVDs that are from the BBC but not comercial movies.

already have k lite, and other media players.

to check plzz connect a usb dvd drive and test is it working if it not call the h/w vendor  and do that immediately
