Acer laptop is being really wierd(EMERGENCY)?

it barely worked for almost a year, then it started working for about 4 weeks. now it is working like it did before. i didnt make any changes to make it work. now i was told to put in more RAM beause it takes alot to make vista work on a laptop. i put 2gb of ram,..its working worse then it was before. i dont know if its that its a cheap laptop (acer aspire 3680) or what. but i really need this for school in a week. its EXTREMELY important i get this fixed and SOON. (its mostly the internet that loads extremely slow, just to guage how slow it takes up to 3 hours to load a 10 minute youtube video)

That is not your Acer. That is your broadband connection which is at turtle speed. even an old computer with Win 95 will run at the speed of light if properly connected to any DSL. Call your cable company. Ram has nothing to do with speed either if you are talking about internet connection.

For Gods' sake, take that RAM out immediately! Go to whatever the manufacturer's site you got that RAM from and check it for compatibility! Please! I have seen too many good laptops go to bad memory. I would suggest Kingston, or Crucial, you can get a couple gigs of RAM for relatively cheap (around $40-50 last time I checked).

As for the internet connection, try opening device manager, and then opening the network controllers pane and updating their drivers, that can really help if you have old nForce or other network drivers. Also, uninstall anything you have like McAfee and install something that has less system drag, like AVG Free or Avast!.
