If you have 2 aces in blackjack can one be a 1 and one be an 11 or do they have to have the same value?

  1. You can make one an eleven and the other Ace a ONE, but why would you? You would have a soft twelve which wouldn't do much for you long-term.

With 2 aces, you ALWAYS split. No if's and's or but's.

An ace is a great starting card, so you might as well split and get 2 hands to play against the dealer each with one Ace.

  2. Yes, you theoretically have 2 or 12 when you have two aces, but that doesn't matter because you ALWAYS split aces, period.

  3. split them go for 2 21's

  4. they dont have to be the same value. you can have whatever combination you want without going over 21

  5. Personally I always...ALWAYS split aces.  As for their value, I never give an ace a value until I am through with my play, the values are always fluid until you are through.  Heck, you don't know what you want them to be worth until you have all your cards, your other cards determine the value, but all that is moot, split them.

  6. Play 'em as 11, then ask to split 'em, making two separate hands. Hit again and hopefully you will get two tens to make two 21s.
