Question:

Aces of the Heart. What of your thoughts

Aces of the Heart

Another distant encounter

A thinking second

So cruel

That life is cheated of it's ace

All cards thrown out the window

And all shuffle met with a whip

There is no art left

All wonder is lingering

And all wrong is through

So say you that you love me

The sleight of hand

Crumpling my deck

My fingers frantic

Thinking more then prostrate

A king of Spades

If this parts

Then I should find the wall

In so far as I can make

And end in a dead splatter

The J of Diamonds

Whisper me your offers

And wind me up in your debt

What do I do

I have not one heart

Would you make mine beat?

Nor one club

What of the war

Would you die for me?

I know a trump

A rare sudden space

Lateral out fluent fold

Call.

Dare you win.

I fumble with my ace

In the second when you play your hand

The Ace of Hearts

The Queen

My soul.

  1. i seriously love this.

bc i write poems but i can only wish one day i can write a amazing one like this.

  2. This is stunning, with cards as a metaphor for life, for those we know, for what happens. I also love the terminology from several different games of cards, such as the lines "What of the war/would you die for me." And "Call/Dare you win." Of course, life often has ace up it's sleeve. Blessed be, and write on.
