Achey thighs and calves? What could be the cause of this?

I'm 22, female and have Hypothyroidism as a result of Graves Disease and a total thyroidectomy.

I have been suffering with achey calfs and legs as a whole, both legs play up, but not always together.

My labs for my thyroid are being monitored and things are going okay and are were they should be.

I do use my laptop frequently and on my lap.

I am thinking of making an appt with the doc for wednesday. what do you think could be the cause of this and do you think I should go ahead with the doctor visit?

Many Thanks!

  1. It might be because of your feet.Do you have flat feet, or bunions etc??

only I had achy thighs and calfs at one point.I went to a orthopeadic place, and they said i needed orthotics.Only a suggestion.Probs wrong!

  2. As you will already know the amount of symptoms with graves disease are huge, what you are explaining is a typical symptom, this disease can cause muscle weakness in the large muscles and also cause wasting away of those muscles, thus causing you the dull aching you are experiencing, if you have any worries about new side effects you are getting  you must see your doctor, its so important as you will know, i don't envy you with this disease, its a terrible thing to live with, with medication and help it can be managed really well, i wish you good health hun and hope this helps.x

  3. Go ahead with your doc's appointment, you may have angioplasty. This condition stops the blood travelling down your legs and causes achey thighs and calfs.
