Design a controlled experiment to test the hypothesis that acid precipitation inhibits the growth of Elodea, a common freshwater plant.

  1. you get different water samples, one preferably is acid water. then test each upon days with bromthymol blue. bubbles indicate presence of Elodea.

    your water sample with Elodea will be diluted, then aliquots will be mixed with different types of acids. those samples were the bromthymol blue is negative is how to inhibit Elodea growth.
