Acie Law stars as Partizan MT: S overpower Belgacom Spirou 91-81: Euroleague Recap
Partizan MT: S did not disappoint the massive home crowd that had gathered at Pionir Arena to support their home boys as they thrashed Belgacom Spirou 91-81 to claim their first victory of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague 2011.
It was an exciting encounter with no team in total control until the last three minutes of the game. A quick burst by Acie Law, who also was the game’s top scorer with 26 points and 7 assists, however took the game away from Belgacom.
Nikola Pekovic was also impressive and finished with 21 points on 9 for 13 from the field. Milan Macvan put up an all round performance scoring 15 points, forcing 6 rebounds and dishing out 5 assists whereas Dragan Milosavljevic
contributed with 14 points.
Demond Mallet, who accumulated massive 27 points in the game against Real Madrid, was the most outstanding player from Belgacom ending with 19 points and 4 assists. Tornike Shengelia added 16 while Chris Hill also chipped in with
his 15 points.
Nikola Pekovic scored first points of the game, scoring through a layup, however it was quickly answered by Belgacom’s Jiri Welsch. The scores were levelled at 6 all in the first three minutes however a three-pointer by Dragan
shifted the momentum and after 7 minutes, Belgacom found themselves trailing by 7 points at 17-10. Jiri and Caleb Green jumped to their rescue though and scored quickly to slash the deficit to 2 points (19-17) in the 9th minute.
However few critical shots at the end of quarter ensured that Partizan went into the second quarter with a significant lead 22-17.

Belgacom made an outstanding comeback in the third quarter and not only managed to reduce the deficit, but acquired a two point lead in the first 5 minutes of quarter. It was an absorbing battle throughout and the momentum kept
on shifting from one side to another. Acie Law’s three shots in the end of an exciting quarter again took Partizan ahead at 73-70.
The initial part of last quarter was quiet but Partizan managed to extend the lead with time. A three pointer by Vladimir in the 7th minute extended their lead to 8 points at 86-78. Belgacom could not just find spots
to score from and when a shot from Acie Law in the final minute reached the basket from downtown, the game was all over.
