Question:

Ackies = good pets? (Y)/(N)?

So are ackies good pets, given the right care, space and TLC?

I was thinking that this might be my next move up from all my other reptiles, the biggest being a grumpy 7 foot JCP, when I have the space.

Thanks, but I will do my own research, I don't want/need a caresheet, but can anyone tell me what they are like the keep as pets? Funny, messy, quirky, waste of time?

Thanks in advance :)

  1. From what I have read about them yes they make good pets. I have experience with monitors, just not ackies. Temperments can always go either way but I have heard that they are more tolerable of handling than others. Getting them young is also a good way of making sure that they are "tamer".

  2. YES

  3. I never owned one but I do know they are more of the calmer then other monitors. I think it's mostly because most Ackies are captive bred and that is the only reason you don't see them in most pet stores. I know a website that sells some pretty good reptiles, this is where I am going to get my Argus Monitor from.

    www.reptileguru.com

    Check the site out they have Ackie Monitors here and their and they'll even ship them next day to you.
