  1. Hi,I don't know if this will work for your spots but its been ABSOLUTELY GREAT on mine. Its 'Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Day and Night Spot Wand' (EURO 4.50 from Boots) I had a massive spot on my skin under my skin and I put it on and then about an hour later I put on Sudocream and it was GONE! If you put it on about 3-4 times a day it should work. I used Sudocream that time cos my spot was big but you don't have to. When I put The Spot Wand on before I go to bed my spot is either gone or half the size in the morning. Sorry if it doesn't work for you but its been fab for me.

If that doesn't work try not to eat so much sweets (if you do!) and drink loads of water!

  2. Well i use Noxema its really strong and there is an astringent also ao it clears up in a couple of days and i use it in the shower

  3. I had the same exact problem! I would get pimples here and there, and they just really lowered my self confidence. I tried everything too, but it seemed like it was only cleaning my face and not getting rid of the acne. So one day i was drywalling and getting ready to paint my room and I got drywall on my face(where my acne was) and it seemed like it took the soreness out of it and dried it up. So I used it again and again every night before i went to bed, and just lightly layered it on my face(kinda like a face mask) and just kept it on when I went to sleep and it would dry my pimples up! No lie!! I use that now instead of my proactiv. Just get regular drywall that feels holes in the wall and put a little bit of water in it to make it like a lotion to put on your face and just simple wash it off in the morning. It drys and will eventually flake off so don't worry about getting it on your pillow or sheets.

    Good luck!!

  4. Minocycline (Minocin) is an antiobiotic that you take orally and get a prescription from the doctor.  It didn't work very well on me, but I had to stop taking it after a couple of weeks because it was giving me a very sore throat (as soon as I stopped taking it, I was fine within a 24 hr period).  I was on Tetracycline for a couple of years altogether and it seemed to help but it took a long time to clear up and made my skin on my nose burn incredibly easily if I was out in the sun.  I have since been off of Tetracycline and on birth control.  Some prescriptions did AMAZING things for my skin (cleared up acne, made my skin super soft), and some prescriptions have made my skin/acne worse but because of some of the intense side effects, I switched prescriptions.  I am now on my 5th prescription and it hasn't worsened my acne and at some points it seems like it is doing my face some sort of good.

The problem with products such as proactive, biore, neutrogena, etc. is that they are on the lower end of the cleansing spectrum.  I tried all those also and I ended up with super tight, dry skin and didn't help my acne.  A couple of weeks ago I was talking with a Shoppers Drugmart SA and she had pointed me in the direction of Avene and Bioderma.  For 2 weeks now I have been using Bioderma Sebium cleansing gel (AMAZING stuff!!) and Avene Clean-Ac hydrating moisturizer and my skin feels and looks a lot better!

  5. Beware of using any acne products unless they have been prescribed or recommended by your doctor.  People make all kinds of suggestions about the best thing to do to cure acne.  Some cures I’ve heard include putting oatmeal, honey, lemon juice, tea tree oil, cucumber, vinegar, milk of magnesia or toothpaste on your face.  Practically every cosmetics company and company that makes personal care products makes something that is a “sure cure” for acne.  If we think about this, and use some common sense, we have to come to the conclusion that there is no quick or easy cure for acne, because if there was it would be well known and doctors would be telling everyone about it.

Numerous companies make a lot of money persuading people to buy products that at worst will make the acne worse, and at best may help some people a little.  Often fewer products are better.  People often make their acne much worse by using too many products.  There really is no quick fix for acne.  Don’t spend a lot of money on products just because their ads say that they will cure acne.  Your doctor is the best person to ask for help, and he or she may recommend some prescription medication or non-prescription treatment that may be suitable for you..

There are some very simple and basic things you can do that cost nothing.  Keep your face or any other area affected by acne very clean.  Any mild antibacterial soap will help with that.  Rinse the area well to remove all soap residue.   Drink plenty of water – it really does help to clear up acne.  Eat a nutritious diet and get enough sleep.  A healthy life style will make a difference.  Try to reduce the stress in your life – stress contributes to acne, so also probably the more you worry about the acne and focus on it, the worse it will be.

Probably the most useful and effective things you can do are to apply hot compresses to pustules and cysts and never to pick or squeeze pimples. Playing with or popping pimples, no matter how careful and clean you are, nearly always makes bumps stay redder and bumpier longer.
