Acne and Acne Scars?

I don't break out heavily but I do tend to have a few pimples at any point and time. The break out spots differ but I have serious problems with acne on my cheeks by my nose. I tend to pick at them a-lot and it causes really really bad acne scars. Are there any cheap ways that I can get rid of these scars, and prevent as well as cure the acne?
