Question:

Acne face wash question?

by  |  earlier

I've tried lots of different things, and none have worked very well. I tried Proactive and that truly didn't work for me. And I tried AcneFree but that didn't work very good either (it worked better than proactive though). I was just wondering if there are any non- prescription face washes out there that are good for clearing up your face.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

  2. you need to just keep useing proactive 2 times a day morning and night for mabey a couple weeks and it works perfect dont stop useing proactive trust me

  3. try a mask with green clay

  4. Your acne could be due to your hormones fluctuating in which case only time will heal.  To help keep your acne minimal I'd suggest using Clearasil 3 in 1 Cleanser with 2% Salicylic Acid (which helps to dry out existing pimples and keep pores clean to prevent new ones) twice a day, once in the morning and once before bed.  You could try any topical cream from Clearasil and apply that after you wash in the evening before bed.  If this doesn't work for you, see a doctor.  They will begin by prescribing you a stronger topical cream to be apply once daily at first and then twice daily.  You wash with a non-medicated soap, (like just a bar of dove or something) and then pat the area dry with a towel and apply the cream.

If that step doesn't work you'd be put on some form of oral medication but let's hope your acne isn't THAT bad :P

Do not pick at your acne because this will cause scarring and could potentially spread the acne.

Drink a lot of water because water makes skin healthy!!

I hope this helps you in your fight against acne!

  5. neutrogena works really well. try using a different makeup too--bare minerals...and try washing your face every now and then with burts bees apricot scrub

  6. i suffer with Acne, but I use duac cream, and oxytetracycline tabs, but they are perscribed from a doctor.  As far as face wash goes, i would recommend st. ives apricot scrub.

  7. proactive works u just have to use it a while, and sometimes it just hormonal problems that cause acne.

  8. I really like Clean and Clear  personally but if you need something stronger than that, try reading this guide to clearing up acne.

  9. If nothing seems to be working and you followed it 100% I'd see a Dermatologist.

My kids have been on proactive and when they skip a step or two the acne returns.

We've just ordered skin ID for our daughter who swears Proactive isn't working. She was using Clearasil - the wash and spot treatment and it cleared her up -

BUT only when she is consistent. - that is the best advice with acne -

  10. I work for a dermatologist and we advise patients to use anything by neutrogena for over the counter twice a day am, pm. if this doesn't work a good RX is retin-a. i see patients who have improved significantly!! And acne takes time up to 6-8 weeks until you see improvements so don't get discouraged.
