I've had acne for a longggg time and its not severe but I always have zits and much of what's on my face is red scars but I do get whiteheads and zits which are so annoying. I've tried proactive and soo many face washes/creams. I even go to the dermatologist and use the creams he gives me along with pills he perscribes me. I dont understand why my face wont clear up and be free of acne? Has anyone found the miracle worker for skin that is acne prone?

It also makes me mad that whenever I go he says "looks like your skin is doing pretty good", ive been going for 2 years and it hasnt changed much at all.... i dont know what to do anymore!

  1. Your skin might be dry because of the cosmetics you use, or what you use to cleanse your face.  You may however go through the following and see exactly what would apply to you and how you can be helped by the information provided:

Acne is an inflammatory skin disorder.  Acne is more common in males because androgens (male s*x hormones) like testosterone, stimulates the production of keratin and sebum, which leads to clogged pores.  During puberty, androgens increase in both sexes, making girls in this age group more susceptible as well.  Acne flares up, in older women are also prompted by the release of progesterone after ovulation.

The sebaceous glands, located in each hair follicle or tiny pit of skin, produce oil that lubricates the skin.  These are found in large number on the face, shoulders, back and chest.  If some of the oil becomes trapped, bacteria multiply in the follicle and the skin becomes inflamed.  Acne is not caused by dirty pores, but most likely by overactive oil glands; the excess oil makes the pores sticky, allowing bacteria to become trapped inside.

The exact cause of acne is not known, but factors that contribute to the condition include heredity, oily skin, use of cosmetics, over consumption of drunk foods, nutritional deficiencies, exposure to industrial pollutants, monthly menstrual cycles, and over washing or repeated rubbing of the skin.

The skin is the largest organ of the body.  One of its functions is to eliminate a portion of the body’s toxic waste products through sweating.  If the body contains more toxins than the kidneys and liver can effectively discharge, the skin takes over.  As toxins escape through the skin, they disrupt the skin’s healthy integrity.  This is the key factor behind many skin disorders, including acne.

The skin also breathes.  If the pores become clogged, the microbes that are involved in causing acne flourish because they are protected against the bacteriostatic action of sunshine.  Dirt, dust, oils and grime from pollution clog the pores, but this can be eliminated by washing the skin properly.

Eat a lot of all kinds of fruits and vegetables.  Eat a diet that is high in fiber.  This is important for keeping the colon clean and ridding the body of toxins.  Raw cabbage is excellent to improve the elimination process of the colon.

Increase your intake of raw foods inclusive of almonds, beets, and cashews.  Eat more foods rich in zinc including shellfish, soy beans whole grains, sunflower seeds, and raw nuts daily.

Eat plenty of soured products such as yogurt to maintain healthy intestinal flora.

Reduce your intake of sweets.  As much as possible avoid stress.  Stress can promote hormonal changes and cause flare-ups.  Many dermatologists also recommend fifteen minutes of sunshine each day, regular exercise, and sufficient sleep for people with acne.

Drink 8 10 glasses of water each day.

  2. Have you tried birth control pills?

she has bad acne and her doctor told her to use it and after taking birth control pills its been going away

  3. lemon juice just rub it on your face before bed and in the morning rinse! if needed you can wear it during the day but put SPF on over it..Oh and you can even use it when your face doenst have pimples..very good for your skin!!

  4. What's your diet? Your diet can affect acne (they haven't proven it yet, but in the human hunting period, they had perfect skin and ate nutritious food). Drink a lot of water, eat vitamins, eat lots of fruit and veggies and exercise.

I am acne prone, but I have something that has been clearing up my acne, I have had acne for 2-3 years, right now I have 2 very very very small pimples and 1 normal sized one, which will clear up soon. I use to have lots of pimples all over my forehead, some on my cheek, chin, and side of my face. but unfortunely it's from the Philippines and I am not sure how you order it (cause my mom got it for me while she was there), it's a Belo product, website-belomed.com or email them 4 inquiries at info@belomed.com,. But here's what's in my regime-glycolic soap (you can find it in drug stores,i think), pore minimizer(toner which contains alum which tightens pores and decrease oiliness), Daily Peel solution, Chat 2% (it helps with scars, contains 2% clindamycin hydroquinone, alum, and 0.05% tretinoin), and L'Oreal hydratoner w/ an added dissolved pill will helps treat acne, I am not sure which one sorry. I also use Neutrogena Anti Acne Oil-Free moisturizer w/ salicylic acid, i spread all over my face, then I get some more and dab it on my acne, which goes away twice as fast if i dab it directly on the pimple, which absorbs the salicylic acid. Hope it helps, but I have oily skin. At first, the belo regime (pore minimizer, daily peel solution, chat 2%, and soap) will make you break out, bringing all the pimples lingering under your skin, it's normal, then the product will heal all those pimples.

  5. use proactive seriously it works

  6. I have suffered from acne too.  If you are female, some oral contraceptives do help.  Also, I've just started a regime of 3% benzoyl peroxide cleanser (prescribed by doc) and tazorac cream.  It's been about 6 weeks and I've noticed a big difference.  I've tried other things in the past and this is the best so far.

  7. do not touch your face. wash your face every night and day. face your pillowcase too.

  8. i have this exact same problem, i ALWAYS have to wear fundation and not because i've got really bd acne but beause i've got zits and red or light purplish scars, i hate it, but i've been using ivory soap (unmedicated) and its been helping, and my face also does that thing (i have EXTREMELY dry skin) so even if i put tons of lotion on and my face is oily as soon as my foundation ges on my face starts to peel and i can never get that flawless finsh but what i've been doing is, after i wash my face i put a warm wash cloth and let it sit there for a minute then i apply pond lotion (its got a blue lid $5 bucks at wal mart or any place like that) and it really work for the peelig part. then i use Nutrageana (don't know how to spell that lol)  fading cream an acne medication 2 in 1 and it works. anyways your skin will clear jst take good care of i and good luck! =]
