  1. With acne, most of the time less is more. Try a light, gentle cleanser like Cetaphil, because cleansers with medicine in them tend to irritate your skin more and irritation causes more acne. The medicines (benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, etc.) should be in separate things like creams and gels. Also make sure to keep your skin hydrated, even if your skin is really oily. If you scrub oily skin so it's really dry, that will make your skin produce more oil to compensate for the lack of moisture. If it's really severe, then you should go to a dermatologist who can prescribe stronger medicines and possibly hormone treatments.

Also: wait a while between putting on medicines to avoid redness and irritation. Plus you'll need to expirament with various things before you can find the system right for you.

  2. i use oxy

  3. Proactiv works great for me! It usually takes a few days of consistently using it the way the directions tell you to, but it makes my skin look better than it would normally look even if the pimples disappeared. I mean, it makes my skin look softer and smoother than I expected it to.

  4. i have found that as long as you wash your face morning and at night it does not really matter what I use. For your body, you can use the body wash for acne. It is available in the same aisle as the facial acne stuff is. I have never tried them, so I don't really know if the body wash works. I am 32 years old and still have some acne especially around my time of the month.

I guess I tend to use the neutrogena products because they are not as harsh and drying. And their price is within my range.

  5. Sorry hun, I have the same problem as you, but I have just started a new product and I dont know if its working yet, I will tell you when its been long enough. Otherwise, a birth control pill called TryCyclen and NeoStrata have helped me. ( Neostrata costs more then 100.00 its very expensive, TryCyclen isnt that cheap either. )

  6. if visiting a physician dermatologist is an option, this is your answer.... they can diagnose why, and how to resolve problem.

  7. wow ok, i have like the exact same problem.  i have acne on my forhead, a little on my nose and beside my nose, and on my chin, and huge pores. i'm the only one of my friends who has this much acne. i have used various types of clean & clear and neutrogena products and they did not work at ALL! i've also tried proactive, clearisil ultra, and im sure other products i cant remember right now. none of them have worked they didn't even help at all. right now im using garnier pure deep scrub gel and toner and it has surprisingly worked better than other things. im not saying i still dont get pimples and zits, it has just helped more than other things. but i got so fed up with my acne, it made me shy, brought down my self esteem, it keeps me from doing things i want, not to mention my pimples turn bright red in photos!!! so i finally asked my parents if i can do to a dermatologist and they said yes, so next week i have an appointment! but i think the only way to be sure to get rid of your annoying acne is to go to a derm, just ask your parents and tell them all the reasons why. and for your back acne try using neutrogena body clear body scrub for acne prone skin and scrub your back really hard with a luffa. and each time you wash your face once you've washed it off splash your face with cold water to close your pores. also wash your sheets regularly like every other week, wash your pillow with your laundry each time, dont go to bed wearing the same shirt more than once, use toner, use a good moisturizer, i use clean & clean soft oil free day moisturizer with spf 15. i recomend this because this works really good especially becuase it already has SPF in it, that way you dont have to put sunscreen on your face and clog your pores. when my face gets oily i use clean & clear oil absorbing sheets, they work good and they dont remove makeup. use a fruit scrub 2 times a week, i use st. ives apricot scrub which works great. i aslo use clean & clear soft in shower facial a few times a weeks which is great for unclogging pores. if you wear foundation use physicians formula, it's talc free, and its ment for acne prone skin so it wont clog pores and suffocate you skin either. i know it sounds like a lot but it's all worth it and it all helps your skin.

sorry its long but if you do these things your acne will improve over time, everything helps! good luck with your acne and hopefully it will clear up, like i hope mine does, because nothing should keep us from living our lives!

  8. try going to c a dermatologist. just go to ur family doctor and ask them if they can get one for u,  that's what i did. the medicine i use now is tretin x, it works pretty well :) but it takes  a long time for it to work well. at first, it makes ur skin all dry but new pimples still come out, then after ur skin has adjusted to it, it gets a whole lot better. :)

hope i helped, and don't worry about it, i have it too and i feel like i'm at the same spot u are. but we both just have to relax....

  9. people,if she SAID she used Proactiv,WHY DO YOU RECOMMEND IT ANYWAY?

obviously, she needs help.don't give BS answers.

anyway,i heard baking soda works really well.trust me i was struggling with acne and it embarrassed me so much.go out and buy baking SODA,make sure it's not the powder.it's dirt cheap!if you're skeptical, read the reviews here: http://www.acne.org/baking-soda-reviews/...

ONLY use it as a WASH,not a mask.once a day.be sure to moisturize well after.

it'll take about a week to see results. :D
