Question:

Acrylic bath dent/crack repair

I dropped something into my whirlpool bath and it left a deep dent at the bottom. At first it looked like the impact cracked the tub through, but it doesnt leak so it's just a surface damage. It's about 5 mm in diameter, mabe 3 mm in the deepest part. Is there any way to repair it? I know you can get a universal repair kit that works on tubs, basins etc. but I'm looking for something specificly for acrylic surface. How well can it be fixed? Will it show?

  1. Try the yellow pages as you may find a specialist bath repairer.

  2. Check with your local hardware store.  There are dent repair kits for cars so you might find something for your tub.  Your hardware store would be your best bet.  You might check online with the whirlpool bath's manufacturer's site for suggestions as well.

  3. Use clear epoxy resin. It adheres well to acrylic. You must degrease the area well and finish off with meths. Use as little as needed and smooth it whilst wet with a piece of polythene or cling film laid over it and rubbed with your finger. It works and lasts well.

  4. try calling the" bath doctor" costs about 90£ but you cannot see the repair
