Acrylic or Gel nails?

Question

I am planning on getting some artificial nails. I do not know whether to get acrylic or gel nails. I have done research and asked everyone i know, i have heard great things and bad things about both. Can anyone tell me what are some legitimate pros and cons about both kinds of nails? Which one is better in the long run? Also, what is better tips or sculptured nails?

i have been getting acrylic nails for years now, they are tough as nails. when i tried the gel nails they were not a strong and i was not happy with them

Id say gel because it lasts longer, dosent chip, and the color dosent fade. it stays strong and looking shiny :].
