Act writing question?

in june i got a 25 comp score and a 10 writing score on the act without any prep tests or anything. i want to take it again to improve my comp score so im gonna take a prep test but im fine w/ the writing. so can i use the new comp score and the old writing score together or do i have to take the writing over again? and i didnt really put any effort in during high school so at this point i have a 3.0 (just starting senior year) and i really just want to go to the university of mn twin cities how impossible do you think that is?

  1. Take the writing over again.  If you end up getting a better composite score this time but don't take the writing part, you'll need to send both scores, and then colleges will see your old 25 comp score along with your new score.  You're better off just taking the writing again.  

    My dad went to grad school there...you don't have a great ACT, and you don't have a great GPA.  If you don't have stellar extracurricular activities, teacher recommendations, and an essay, it's going to be very difficult for you to get in.
