Acting Auditions?

Question

For the Season General Auditions, auditionees should prepare two contrasting songs from musical theater. Bring the sheet music in the correct key... an accompanist is provided. No a cappella or recorded accompaniment auditions. Auditions appointments should not exceed 5 minutes.

I got that when i signed up for the auditions. What is Contrasting songs??

Not the same in the sense one is sorrowful, while the other is hopeful...

Moods change in theatre, and  is expressed my music.

One dramatic song, and one cheerful song...stuff like that

songs that don't really sound alike... probably something slower and something faster... or just two songs that are different and don't sound the same
