I have wanted an agent for so long. I need ideas on how to find some good ones for a good beginner. I have been told great things on looks and stuff but I heard it is more of the talent then the looks?

  1. obviously acting is more talent than looks?

and obviously it's hard to get an agent and get into acting - if it was easy, everyone would be successful.

Take acting classes and do community plays. Then get headshots and build a resume. Go here http://www.sag.org/branches to find a list of reputable agencies in your area. [click your city, and then click local resources and download the pdf]

once you have enough experience and training, send your headshot and resume to those agencies.

  2. Interesting word play with your ID name.

HARD is probably relative to talent, passion, and jobs one might get.

Certainly an agent, as so many here seem to think is the Yellow Brick Road to fame and fortune, MIGHT expect a client to have talent, beyond LOOKS,,,and what might be defined as "Stuff"???

An agent gets paid from what YOU get paid. Obviously that equates to them addressing decent jobs that YOU can actually work into/with. In a commission sense 10 % of Zero $, is hardly worth having a client signed up for.

Education in the craft might be a thought??? Certainly either genre, Film or stage, assumes that one who auditions has some level of ability.

  3. Hi. I want to be an actress too. ^_^;; You have to find legit agents, preferably ones that have an office or atleast are SAG franchised. If you do get enough experience where your ready to send in your headshot and all you have t expect that you probably won't get a call for a while. I sent in my info last summer and I still haven't been contacted. This may not be the case for you but be prepared to wait. You can maybe give them a call some months after...(this is just a guess...maybe 5 months maybe?) I hope this helps. ^_^

  4. yea it is extremetly hard. you have to want to act so badly. it has to be your true passion and you have got to be willing to work and determined to keep trying. if you aren't talented and energetic, you have no chance. i'm sorry but that is the truth. here this is what you need to do. first, get some good experience doing like school or community plays or taking dance class. anything to get you on the stage. next, you need some awesome headshots to send out to them. if you can't afford a professional photographer, go to a local school and see if the photog students can do a testing. a testing is where they take pictures of you in exchange for the experience. then google talent agencies near ---------- (your town) and start locally. send out your pictures to them and a list of any experiences you've had.

    Good Luck :]

  5. It was pretty easy to get my agents.
