  1. - don't just 'show emotion', just breathe and focus on the person in front of you

    - don't act like you're angry, make yourself angry!

    - in one acting class I took, there were young children. the master teacher put one of them on the spot and sat down in chair. he asked to her make him get out of the chair. after several unsuccessful tries, she replied, "I think my problem is that I don't actually want you to get out of the chair." The big thing about acting is that you HAVE to make yourself want to get him out of the chair. Does that make sense? It's all about doing it with the character's motives and limits. And please, ANNUNCIATE! Hit all of your consanants and be clear with your vowels. Open your mouth wide, don't have something in your mouth, and don't throw away words. Know why you're saying everything, give everything a purpose. Know why you're doing everything.

Try an exercise similar to the one I mentioned above where the little girl had to get her teacher out of the chair where's there's an objective and improve. Try taking a monologue and choosing an objective and then do it. Don't try to be extremely dramatic, just be real. If your character in the monologue is pleading her father to spare someone's life, try practicing it on your dad. Really plead for it. Know why she's pleading. Hope I helped! Send me a message for tips!

  2. as an actor you have to emotional link you self to the character your playing. put you self in that situation and think how would you feel. other best way is to link it to your life as it is going on past experiences and stuff like that where you might have been in a similar situation. try to be natural rather then trying to be an actor. be that character.

  3. a second before your audition close your eyes and visualize you are the character your audition for then you can become the character ... trust me it works

  4. Read the text by yourself very slowly.....allowing images to emerge. Stay very relaxed and remind yourself you are under no pressure to "come up" with anything. Now go through the TEXT again reading aloud, this time alternately emphasizing and exaggerating the sounds of the vowels, then the sounds of the consonants. That helps me with text.

  5. Plenty, its called..... EXPERIENCE, Plays, schools, camps, THEY ALL COST MONEY, Sad But TRUE!!
