I already asked this but...

My dream is to be an actress, and you will have no idea how hard i'm working to get somewhere with it, unfortunately i'm not.

I've taken many classes and had much training, but I live in little town in PA so not much around here to really get started. I was just wondering to finally get somewhere what do I need? I have headshots and a resume with all the training I had. I really don't want an agent at the time I kind of just want to go to auditions myself but if I DO need an agent I'll get one but how do I get one?(when the time comes of me haveing to get on haha)

Any tips on how to "get started" and get some jobs?

  1. First you going to have to go to acting schools for training. Not only one but a couple. Then you should get in local plays, school plays, student films. You could search for auditions on craigslist.com or subscribe to backstage.com The you should get headshots that look like you. Professional headshots are pretty expensive they cost $200-$1000 but on craigslist you could find less expensive headshot that range from $50 to $150. As you get more and more credits on your resume, you may want to go for an agent. An agent gets you auditions and they want people who they think would nail all the auditions they give. If you get a part in an audition. The money you make out of that work you pay 10% to your agent. ONLY 10%. If they ask for money upfront they are a SCAM. Once you get an agent you would start getting a lot of auditions which means more audition. As you make money out of roles you make you may want to get professional headshots. Then in the future you may want to join Union such a SAG, AFTRA , AEA.... HOPE I HELPED

  2. FYI I have no experience on this but my suggestion would be to look up some Acting jobs some where outside of state. If your looking for somthing big than start VERY small! Try as an extra in a Television show. I know you will get some where and reach your dream!

  3. How do you expect to get pro jobs if you have never done any amateur acting? Get in some plays, training is only about a third of what you need on a resume.  And you will  need an agent. Get a copy of Brian O'Neil's book, Acting as a Business to find out how to get an agent. All actors start in school and community plays.

  4. living in a little town should be no problem.  try this site: Hollywood-opportunities(dotcom). they e-mail you casting calls and auditions being conducted in your area.
