  1. NEVER pay anyone to represent you.  Anyone who asks for money is a con artist.  Real agents get paid a percentage of your earnings.

You can't just hire an agent, they have to agree to represent you.

If your mother doesn't approve, it won't happen as you need her to sign permissions and drive you places.

Work on your skills, audition for school and community plays.  Learn from older performers.

  2. They dont cost you anything, they take a certian % of each job you make.... about 10% to 13%......

    Good luck!!!

    I share your dream!!

  3. I don't know much about acting, considering im a muscian and artist, but i'll do my best. Um, acting agents are pretty annoying.....but you could start out in plays...gradually make your way to Broadway....then think about getting a serious agent. An,(im an expert w/ parrents) I can tell why your mom is worried. She's just getting the wrong idea, as long as YOU know that you AREN'T GONNA TURN OUT LIKE THOSE CELEBS. So tell your mom how you feel, and if she still doesn't believe you, start with school plays, show her how RESPONSIBLE you are. If that doesn't help, i'll pray for you. Hope you have lots of fun acting.  :)

  4. For one, agents shouldn't cost you anything, the only thing you may have to pay for are headshots and acting classes, which your agent can suggest, but should insist on.  Agents take a percentage of what you make (10-20% depending on job).  To find an agent, check out a complete list in your area & go here:  http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=acti...

Characters Talent, LizBell, Lucas Talent, Lloyd Talent, Act Talent, & King Talent are just a few of the agents in your area.  Visit their websites and follow submission guidelines.

Remember, your parents need to support your dreams because they will be the ones signing papers, taking you to auditions, and paying for classes.  Good luck! Hope I helped!

  5. you have a long way to go,agents arent sold or bought, when you sing a contract with them you sign up for 10% or 15% of your earnings go to the agent/agency but no higher, or its most likey not a good deal.everyone askes the same question everytime, its alright i was at the same spot as you are now.anyways try looking at your nearest large city and see if there are any acting agencies there.. sometimes you can find them in your local newspaper..  good luck

  6. Send your resume` to an agent (yellow pages or google it) but make sure that they're reputable first. If they make you pay a certain wage right away then they are a scam. A good agent will take a percentage of your earnings from a particular show/ play/ movie/ commercial that you were in. You're going to have to get lots of experience before you decide for an agent to represent you. You're going to have to dedicate a lot of your time to things like

    * dance classes. Jazz, ballet, tap, hip-hop and musical theatre dance classes work VERY well. Agents like people who can dance.

    * singing lessons and a choir. This will help to develop your voice and introduce you to a wide variety of music from different cultures etc.

    * go to as many auditions as you can. If you make it yay, if you don't, well that's kind of how the business goes. Be sure that you have a prepared monologue/ song and you don't forget to smile big every chance that you get. The more plays that you are in, the more you can list on your resume`, thus the better the roles that you will get. Auditions can be found at your school, church, local theatre, major city theatres etc.

    * acting classes/ workshops/ clinics are very good for improving SKILLAGE  ( my own word isn't it awesome?! Anyways, if you love to act and if you're a natural you're already good but you still need more.

That's about it! I wish you the best of luck on your acting "journey"! YAY! :)
