okay so i honestly wanna be an actress when im older.

im persistant, i never give up, this is my dream, so don't put me down and tell me it won't happen.

but anyway, im gonna start working up more towards it now.

im in 8th grade.

what would be an impressive resume?

this year i am planning on taking like an acting class or something, possibly dance, and as usual im gonna audition for the middle school musical.

and possibly the upper school musical.

but anyway, what can i do now and throughout high school to work on my dream on becoming an actress?

i'm planning on going to college and stuff though.

but maybe before that possibly starring in a few little things or a commercial or something small to build my experience.

also, how do you get an agent? im not planning on getting one any time soon, but just wondering.

thanks, sorry this is a lot of stuff, but i would really appriciate if you answerrrr nicely!!!!!(:

  1. i don't know if this will help much but you can join starseachcasting.com and they can give you casting listings in your area and any other area.

  2. Just pursue it, perform, perform in any possible play to get seen by as many people possible... Get your family support. You also have to identify a style that you want. A person, group, or company that really make you think "I want to do that". Find a way to practice with their technique (and i said practice, besides study). Practice is finally what will get you on stage in a solid way. Make yourself clear if you want either a JOB or an artistic activity that will make you happy. Being notorious is not necessary being talented, or, even worse, it will make you compromise many ethical things that you might not like to do or act in plays that you dont really like. The commercial circuit not always cross roads with the pure artistic lane, so you have to be focused in what you deeply wish. Welcome! Best of luck!

  3. Pilates lol. no just kidding.  Try dancing videos

  4. Hi hun! Congratulations for following your dream. Good for you! Don't ever let anybody tell you it's silly. I can tell you are level headed and realistic about it.

Best thing you can do is get experience in different fields that could come in handy... get stage experience (which, in my opinion, is a must even if you want to be an on-screen actor), get modelling experience (don't starve yourself and enter America's Next Top Model... find someone who will photograph you just as you are, to build confidence around the camera).

And I suggest you start just auditioning for what you can. It is important that you learn early on that persuing acting... can be mostly about fruitless auditioning. And you need to learn not to let it bother you, stop you or break you down. You need to build thick skin there.

I personally wouldn't start off in LA. Just start local, then take it to a bigger but still safer city than LA... and then build you way up to LA. LA is a harsh place... you don't want to strand there with no experience or confidence. Start out somewhere else, and don't move there until your skin is thick and your mind educated. Get some back-up education. For your own sake! You want to find something else you like to do, too, so that in case acting doesn't work... you don't end up a just a 'failed actress end of story'. You want a safety net for your own self worth.

Commercials are a good way to start. Try and see if there's any agencies near you. Wether for actors or models. It's good to also get experience with the 'business' side of that world. Also keep a watchful eye on movies being shot anywhere near you, anywhere near enough to audition to be an extra. For me work as an extra has been the perfect introduction into that world.

Most of all; have fun and be yourself. Your teens is when you really get to know yourself, and don't try to mold yourself into something you are not just for a job. That is not worth it. Never spend time on becoming somebody else's perfect, spend time becoming the best version of yourself. Because showbusiness wants personalities, not paper dolls.
