My parents r fine w/ my decission of trying to get into the acting business! But we are having a hard time getting nethang done, cuz we live in Arkansas, so there is only one talent agencey that i know of. And its a modeling and acting, it called Excel and idk if that will help me.

So plz give me any info of what i could do to get into this business. I know i need an agent and i plan on getting one.

  1. I suggest going to the agency and #1. seeing if they will even represent you & #2. seeing if the kind of work they would get you would be what you want. Look at the possibilities in front of you first, then look for alternative options.

WARNING! Even if they say yes, make sure you don't sign anything right away. Go home & think about it, have lawyers look over the contract, call former & current members of the agency to see what kind of experience they had, call the better business bureau, look at the competition to see what they would offer. IN OTHER WORDS RESEARCH!

And avoid scams (see 'Kimmy' above for an example). You don't pay money for an agent. They make their money off you (a 10-20% commission) and if they have to spend money to get headshots/ runway classes for you- they will if they are legit.
