  1. do performance at college

  2. Hugs on you for noticing the spelling.

At 13 you certainly have limitations, no offense. One might be your thought of parental approval, and certainly 5 years of their involvement in a legal sense.

I forgot now how 13 relates to a grade level, 5th? 6th? perhaps? I so want to assume you are in school,,,do they offer ANY possibilities for plays, or drama/music/ clubs? No offense to one answer who stated get involved in College, but you didn't ask "how long can I hang out, waiting" though it might not be such a bad idea as you explore possibilities.

Realizing that thousands of young people visit this site WANTING.....STARTING, most especially at your age, should be in learning, getting involved in education, and age appropriate situations, while exploring some notion of "ACTING"

As a parent at the very least, I wish you ALL GOOD, but would also suggest, every night as you say your prayers; to ask for patience and maturity, as you explore what seems to be an immediate passion.

  3. If I were you I'd start to do your own stuff on youtube and also do some stuff in school and maybe even try out for cooler things.  There is also a lady coming to town this saturday searching for the next child star.

  4. Not true BoB, you can be very successful if you don't live in LA. You just might not be staring in network tv shows or major studio films. BUT a lot of actors live in different cities like Toronto, or New York, or even Vancouver, and still get big roles in big movies. The great thing about technology (i.e. phone, internet) is auditions can be held in many cities in a short amount of time.

BUT, i recommend you start in school, audition for plays there

  5. join a drama club and you can take it from there.

u willl attend and perform in shows to gain good experience.

  6. look up some tryouts of maybe a commercial or something.

my friend has an acting coach and shes 13 also.the acting couch also finds her some parts like she was an extra in a moviee

  7. Get headshots and put together a resume.... send it to different agencies and see if any are interested in you.

It's a tough business... not glamorous...

If you don't live less than an hour away from LA you won't be very successful. Unless you're parents or someone is willing to drive you to LA with 24 hour notice to an audition that you might not even get the part for.

my point is that you have to live near a place that has acting opportunities. You can't just live in Utah or something and suddenly want to be a big movie star...

  8. Start in your school play, or check in with the town you're in. They probably have a theater somewhere and you can be in some of those plays.

If you're into acting on television, get an agent. Start small (commercials and background roles) and work you're way up.

Never give up on your dreams. If you work hard, you can achieve anything. Oh, and also see if your school (probably when you get into high school) has any acting classes, so you can learn some useful skills. Good luck!

  9. Go to a lesson first! Done? Then go singing! you might want to because you might have to do some singing! Then talent show! Some musicals and set up some of your own shows. Then try to go for Best Dressed for your school! You will be cool! Done? Go to some malls and find the carts that you can sign up for in moviees!

  10. lol

  11. i think it is good to start out small then take on bigger and better crowds

  12. audition for your school plays and musicals, but also do community theatre. your roles will start off very small, almost always in the ensemble or chorus, but they will get bigger as you do more productions.

  13. You can audition for a role in a kid's play, and work your way up from there. The 2 most important things if you want to be good are practice, and CONNECTIONS! if you know someone in acting, they can lever you up to a good position.
