  1. The basic character is a VERY young teenager that has fallen in love with someone that her extremely repressive family would NOT approve of.  Most teenage actresses can identify with this, even if not to the same extreme as Juliet's problems.

What ever YOU may have ever felt in your own life, just step it up to max as, in Juliet's time and situation, such situations were, actually, a matter of life and death, as several people in the play were to find out.

Remember the cliche's of what modern teenagers are like.  Moody, flighty, finding easy joy and tragedy in almost everything.  Love of one's family and resentment of being treated like a child, all within the space of moments.  In Juliet's case, there is only ONE single person in the entire world that she can confide in, and, even that one is not quite a member of the family, but a trusted servant and retainer.

I always felt that the two most challenging parts of the play would be the Nurse, who must weigh her love of Juliet with her duties to the family in general, and, the priest, who battles his obligations as confessor and, his sin of pride in plotting a way that he thinks will give him credit for ending the feud and bringing peace to the city.

But Juliet, honestly, she's just a kid who overreacts.

  2. Well, if you got the part and you didn't think you would, then you shouldn't need any tips except to be your bubbly self.

  3. try looking for acting tips here, they have articles about it: hollywood-opportunities(dotcom)

  4. Well first congrats second research her part and learn to connect with her character on a deeper level

  5. Ask the director for acting tips.

  6. Before you look to use technique - LEARN YOUR LINES.  Shakespeare is hard, but once you get the rhythm then his meaning becomes clear.  I hope your director is good and does not expect you to just know how to read Shakespeare.

Be sure you understand the part and what is going on before tackling this role.

It is important to speak distinctly, not rapidly.

You don't have to shout all the time to be emotional.  However, the people in the back of the auditorium pay as much to get in as the people in front. They need to hear you. To convey whishpering (for example), you can lower your eyes and tip your chin down slightly (do not speak to the floor) and still speak in a normal voice that the whole audience can hear.

Get coaching from the director. Ask questions. But know your lines so that you can concentrate ont he rest.

    Break a leg!

  7. sorry i suck at acting!

  8. Don't play the role, be the role. Live in the moment. Focus on your characters feelings, and emotions. That way, you become the character, not just and actor(ess) playing the character. . .

    I hope I helped!
