i'm 17 and ive decided that acting is my life. i live to be on the stage or behind the cameras. although i dont live in LA or have an agent. i am with my artists place/rising stars but im usually the oldest one in the classes and i often feel that im not being taken serious when do scenes where i have to act as a cow because im doing scenes with 10yr olds. im in my schools drama class but i feel that i wont get work because i dont live in LA and of course the fact that i dont have an agent. if you have any tips for me on where to find an agen(ive tried looking online but havent found anything) or classes i can take that would be great. im on exploretalent.com and have gotten a few auditions but nothing that i could do because they have been in LA. your help would be very much appriciated. thanks. !!!!!!

  1. 1. Training. Acting/Dancing/Singing classes are a good start. You start to get some talent under your belt, and grow your confidence. Plus, if after about a year of classes if you realize you really don't like it, it'll be easier for you to back out.

    2. Experience. Do Community Theater, act in your school play, get in some student films, etc. You'll want to do as many productions as possible to have a great resume.

    3. Agent. http://www.soyouwanna.com/site/syws/tale...

As you can see, you're going to need to spend at least two years (At the VERY least. Usually you'll need three to four.) building yourself up. You'll want to make sure this is what you really want to do before you start getting into this.

Also, you should NEVER have to pay for anything when it comes to getting an agent. If an agent tells you to take special classes from them or a website asks for a credit card number, that is a red flag that it is a scam. Some of the big scammers out there are: John Robert Powers, Millie Lewis, John Casablancas, Proscout, Model Look, Barbizon.

Hope this helps and I wish you a fantastic career. =)

  2. You don't have to go to L.A. Here are some possibilities. Find a reputable acting teacher within 100 miles of wher you live if possible--make sure he/she is 'reputable.'  Take acting classes at a college, but check the background of the teacher. The school itself is irrelevant. It is the quality of the teacher that counts. Other cities that can assist you in pursuing a career are NYC, Philadelphia, and Chicago. My advice, don't go to a 'cold' audition where you don't know the organizers. They could be rip offs.

  3. First off stay away from exploretalent and john robert powers

2 once ur 18 move to LA if u want commercials,tv shows, and movies or NY if u want plays

  4. I am in your same postition sorry idk but i do know this there are going to be hundreds of people in your life that laugh at you and tell you that there is no way that you will ever be able to do what you want to do but know this if you want it bad enough and are willing to give up just about anything then you got it and it doesnt matter what anyone says

    good luck to you!
