  1. Try to get landed as an extra at first, show you parents that it's not really that hard, you don't need any experience, and it gets paid. They'll come around. Another thing is you need to know someone to become a good actor, take leaps and bounds when it comes to trying to make good friends with people, which is why I say to become an extra for certain movies, you'll meet people.

  2. Parents are always a hold back in the career. My parents are very supportive, but will not pay for the expensive lessons passed monthly vocal lessons. Try to convince them that this is your dream, and you really enjoy it. If they still don't support your dream, well, sadly some parents can be like that.

School musicals would be great. It is mostly all in school, so you should be good. If you want to get into professional acting, I guess you will have to wait until you get out of the house to find an agent and all. For the time being, try to get as much experience as you can. Experience is key.
