  1. NO, your not to old many parts call for people in there 20's..

and how to overcome your fear..

1.) Make eye contact.. find something in the room to look at when your saying your monologue, or commercial... look at that one thing the whole time ( a poster, clock just something on the wall that is right above the directors)

2.) KNOW YOUR MATERIAL -- many people get nervous because they are not prepared, practice at least everyday for 20-30 minutes, get in front of a mirror and practice your posture, and what movements your going to do.. also know what your going to wear and bring.. and always be at least 15 minutes early.

3.) be confident.. know you are going to do a good job and always stay positive, if you mess up it's okay everyone does just keep going as if you never messed up.

4.) Smile -- directors look for someone that has a big hollywood smile..

5.) Know how to answer any questions they might through at you, like what are your hobbies, Tell me about yourself, or why do you want to be an actor/actress? Give then straight answers and don't hesitate.. also make sure you give good reasons that stand out from everybody else.

    Good Luck! :)

  2. No 20 is not too old, neither is 30,40,50,60,70, etc. etc.

One of the most effective ways to NOT stress with the audition process, is to NOT "expect."  I have no out of the box terminology for expectations, but you might equate it to what it means to ASSUME. The old saw about to assume makes an *** out of you and me, might be quite valid.

Or another way to put it might be; expect the worst, hope for the best. Stress before the fact is a useless expense of energy anyway.

An audition, is a place where the ACTOR, puts himself in ANOTHER PLACE, not being judged,,,merely playing a part, delivering some lines, singing a song, etc.

Certainly that might equate to YOUR levels of self confidence in other areas of your life.

Obviously knowing exactly what you intend, as an audition piece, preparing for it, knowing it as well as you know your own name, will help.

YOU are in a competition, and egos flash as blatantly as hormones. There are professed exercises one can try, such as meditation, but in a general sense, it's life in another dimension, and if you have issues in your dimension, they will transfer to portraying someone else.

    Just my 2 "Scents"

  3. I sure hope not. I started when I was 21 and I see my self acting until the day I die. I'll even star in the films produced up in heaven [ no joke ;o]. Good luck hun! Don't let anyone or anything stop you from reaching your goal!
