Action movie that took place on a plane?

Question

I only remember bits of the story.

It's about a plane carrying an important person (I think...) and it was being hijacked by a group of terrorist. The rest of the passengers were locked in the baggage area, I think.

The government sent a special team to go into the plane to stop them, but some of them got killed. Even the team's leader who I thought looked like Samuel L. Jackson was shot in the end, but still alive... (I already tried checking on imdb.com, but couldn't find this particular movie).

Then there was this stewardess who was one of the main character. The pilot was shot dead, so she was the only one who could land the plane through guidance from control tower.

I know I didn't give much info to guess what the movie is, but I'm hoping some of you know which movie I meant. Thanks for the help!

snakes on a plane? sam jackson was in that. a terroist put all these snakes on a plane to kill some important person, all of the passengers that were left huddled in i think first class to try and stay away from the snakes.
