  1. I had the problem that on the left side of the computer screen, it said waiting for the DS when it was already connected.  It also would not update.  My computer (XP) would make the noise of something being plugged into it (meaning it probably wasn't a hardware issue) but would still wait for the DS.  I installed the new drivers and software from online and it worked.  When I wrote to Action Replay at their website (www.codejunkies.com) and this is what they sent me:

Please check the firmware version of your Action Replay DS and choose the appropriate version below – (The firmware version can be found at the top right of the Nintendo DS Screen when the Action Replay is loaded to the main menu)

    FIRMWARE VERSION 1.60 OR ABOVE

Unfortunately, the incorrect drivers were included on the Action Replay DS disc that came with your product.

Download the Nintendo DS Action Replay software and drivers from the link below. Extract the zipped archive to a folder on your PC, and run the included Setup file to install the Action Replay Code Manager. Having this folder on your desktop is the easiest place. After installing this software, you may connect your Action Replay to a free USB port directly on the PC to begin driver installation. If you are required to point to the location of the drivers, they may be found in the folder to which you extracted the files form the download.

To properly install the drivers, go to your computer's Device Manager. (Make sure to have your Action Replay connected at this point)

Choose the following according to your computer's operating system:

    For XP users:

    1) Bring up your Device Manager (Start-> right click My Computer -> Properties -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager).  Go to 'USBIO Controlled Devices'. It should show as Data Max, NDA Link, or a similar title. Right-click and choose "Update driver".

    2) You will go through the following prompts:

-Can Windows connect to Windows Update to search for software? No, not this time.

-What do you want the wizard to do? Install from a list or specific location.

-Don't search. I will choose the driver to install.

    -'Have Disk...' button

    -'Browse' button

-Choose the location where you extracted the software set up files (your Desktop in most cases).

    3) Go back to your Device Manager, and the title should now properly read 'NDS Link' or 'NDA Link'.

    4) Open your Code Manager program, and it should read 'NDS Codes' on the left side.

    For Vista users:

1)Bring up your Device Manager Device Manager (Start-> right click Computer -> Properties). Choose Device Manager from the left side under 'Tasks'. Go to 'USBIO Controlled Devices'. It should show as Data Max, NDA Link, or a similar title. Right-click and choose "Update Driver software...".

    2) You will go through the following prompts:

-Browse my computer for driver software.

-Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer.

If you still have problems connecting after the Code Manager Software and drivers have been installed correctly, please refer to the information for Firmware Versions below 1.60 listed below. These steps can also be found under the Nintendo DS/Action Replay section at www.datelcustomerservice.com.

The e-mail continued to state what to do if you have FIRMWARE VERSIONS BELOW 1.60 if you want.  Just contact me through Yahoo! Answers e-mail.
