Couple of general questions about the job and lifestyle!

1. realistically will I be able to do distance learning course to get my degree at a good pace?

2. how long would it take me to make E-4 if I'm E3 prior service?

3. How long would I have to enlist for HM If I'm prior service heard it's 5 years for HM just wondering if it's less than that for priors?

4. How hard is it to go to BUD/S say a year after I enlist?

  1. 1. It depends on your definition of a good pace. If you want to get a 4 year degree in 4 years, be ready to work your butt off and get no sleep. You should be able to finish a 4 year degree in 5 years.

    2. It should be 6 months from the day you finish OSVET training and after you're done with corps school.

    3. The only HMs I have known have had to sign up for 5 years. That doesn't necessarily mean you HAVE to. My rate requires a 6 year contract and a girl got a 4 year contract by forgoing some of our perks.

    4. That's a special program which you should be able to work out with your command. Being able to apply for it depends on them, and them only.
