Active coastal x jungle carpet python

i have a carpet python who behavior in his viv has suddenly changed, he is constantly active and seems restless rubbing against the glass and branches in his viv, nothing in the viv has changed, his not in shed, he hasn't got mites, he has been off his food for a couple of weeks. could this behavior be due to wanting to breed?

  1. This could certainly be breeding behaviour, oftens males will ' patrol ' around their enclosures looking for a mate.

    Some snakes do this and some don't - my male bredli is a very active patroler, yet my port maquarie carpet does not display this behaviour ( both are mature adults )

    I wouldn't be worried at all unless he starts showing signs of sickness.
