I am teaching a seminar on marriage and would like to use an active listening exercise. I have searched but have not had much luck. Any suggestions on listening activities for couples would be appreciated.

  2. Active listening....

Check out Harvill Hendrix (spelling?) for some type of responsive info.  I went to a workshop he led a few years ago, and we did a great activity on listening.

One person spoke for a minute, and then the listener's job was to respond actively - "So what I hear you saying is that you enjoyed going to such and such for dinner and you'd recommend it?"

By repeating key information about what the person was saying, you show that you were listening actively.  It was challenging, yet fun.

    Good luck!
