Question:

Activism for Darfur?

I was reading a blog recently and someone had made a comment that they resent the majority of black America because every Darfur activist they know is white. After I read this, I felt a little annoyed by the cynicism of the poster. Any thoughts?

  1. Don't read blogs? probie, their mind altering. The Sudan may have been drought stricken for many years, there is indeed disease and death there which is all the more reason to help.Sudan is indeed a prize politically. Its the first place Islamic fundamentalist have really taken. If only the African National Congress could make common cause with  moderate Arab countries, that would be something westerners as well as Europeans could stand up and take notice. As for the question of correctness don't bother with those that criticize the effort to help those in dire need.

  2. Darfur is a hopeless hellhole.  Best to focus on places that might actually be saveable, like East Timor or Angola.
