Activites for 4 year old Pre-schoolers?

Question

I am wondering if anyone has any games of ideas for a group of 4 year old that is Animal related? I will be doing a Noah's Ark Workshop where we will make stuffed animals and I haven't had any children this young before I need some ideas. Thanks!

check out www.everythingpreschool.com they have a ton of stuff, arts, crafts, recipes, game ideas, coloring pages, ect.  You can look by theme, ie animals, or alphabet, whatever. Anyway its worth a look.

Kids at this age (in my experience) really enjoy movement activities. I'd find a song about animals (on a CD or for you to sing) and have the kids move like animals. There's a song out there (I can't remember who does it) called Animal Action where it names animals and gives the kids the chance to move around like that animal.

You can also do a Simon Says activity that is animal themed ("Simon says walk like a penguin") or have an animal race, where the kids race while moving like an animal (i.e. move from one side of the room to the other like a snake... like a dog... like a bird). But remember not to focus on the "winner" of a game with this age group. Focus on everyone participating or being creative.

You'll be fine as long as it's something they can really move to and get involved in. This age group likes to be actively involved and they're VERY high energy!

u should do macoroni necklaces and paint xmas trees the kids would think it was awesome!!!

try showing a veggie tales religious Noah's ark film. also, read some Noah's ark stories books from the library, and after that, do a Noah's ark craft by cutting out an ark and making animals our of construction paper. make Noah's ark cookies and cut out the shapes of animals in the cookie cutters. try to have a short child's discussion about the movie. bring in some dress up clothes and have the kids act out the ark by making animal masks with paper boxes for the ark.
