Activities for kids?

Hi I recently found a part time job that pays pretty good. But the thing is, I have to take care of a 6 year old boy that has autism and he has VERY short attention span. When ever I ask him to listen or try to teach him how to compare which number is bigger, he would look around the room.

Plus he makes weird noises, and keeps running up the stairs when he is not suppose to. Because he is over weight, it is hard to pull him down the stairs.

I need to know what kind of activities can we do that is educational but fun at the same time. It needs to be:

- fun for kids that have short attention span

- easy to learn

- educational

- time wasting

- random

- and everything else

If you know how to take care of a child that has autism and short attention span, please let me know what I should do.

[Also, his mother said that he is kind of mental in the brain which is why he doesn't listen. His mother spoils him! He has a Wii!]

  1. You should talk to him, and tell him stories like funny stories. you have to be ferm, and let him know whos boss or he will contuine to run around and scream. You  should try to play the wii with him, since he and you both will enjoy it. And if that does not work maybe try to teach him how to sing and dance. and you should color and draw alot, since its a good, time consuming, and easy way to express and de stress.

  2. try leapfrog

  3. memory it teaches his mind to remember stuff

FLASH CARD TREAT show him flash cards and every time he gets an answer give him candy
