I'm going on a cruise on May 26th-30th on the MOTS on RC to the Bahamas. I'm wondering what kind of activities there are and what kind of clothes to pack. I've read that there was a masquerade ball and Pirates,...etc. Does anyone know if these themes will be on this particular cruise? What should I pack?

  1. You should get info about the cruise in the mail soon. Activities should be listed. I cruised on the MOTS last May there wasn't a masquerade ball or Pirates on that cruise. Pack like any other vacation. I would have packed some more shorts.

  2. Not sure where to go to find out specific activities on your cruise, but RC ships do have stuff like what you mention.

I just recently went on a 7-night western Caribbean cruise on the Liberty of the Seas and one night was a 70's theme with a big party on the Royal Promenade. One night was 80's night with a huge dance party in the ice rink, and then there was the Pirate thing on the promenade, although it was a short event, like maybe 20 minutes.

    Hope that helps.

If you can find out specifics for your cruise, they suggest you maybe bring some clothes that fit the theme and wear them!

I saw a lot of people in 70s-type clothes the night they did it.

  3. Hi, I've been on RC MOTS and loved it!  You will want to bring something very dressy for the captain's dinner (that same night they also take formal portraits, if you are interested).  Its very formal, with women in cocktail dresses and gowns and men in tuxedos.  Other than that, make sure you have a casual outfit for the dining room (no jeans allowed in there) and the rest just shorts, tanks, T-shirts, and a swimsuit!  I spend the whole cruise in shorts and dressed up just one night.  The activities are endless, a lot of them outdoors (swimming with dolphins, scuba diving, parasailing) and then they often have parties in the bar area.  They also have a casino where you might want to dress up a little, but its not required.

I envy you!!  Hope I helped and have fun!!

Also, the cruiseline should send you a packet telling you everything you need to know!
