  1. 1.  use of scrap materials to assembling their own toys to encourage them not to buy ready-to-play expensive toys which do not develop their creativity.  By so doing, you also strengthen their values on recycling.

    2.  get them to understand the important role of every living organism.  Even the smallest insect has a role to play and killing an insect, even a spider, can adversely affect environmental diversity.

  2. Recycling, get in touch with the environmental dept and they will send loads of lit. and goodies to you.

Look at mini beasts and the environment they live in, this entails going on a bug hunt which they will love. You can then expand this by showing how rubbish will harm the creatures and destroy their habitat.

  3. we recently had this topic for our preschools... we had an environment bus come out to us.. it was a local authority one to emphasis the environment and recylcing.. they included goody bags, a puppet show and lots of hands on stuff! the kids loved it.. contact your local council to see if they do anything like this it really is worth it! :D

  4. Maybe try getting them recylcling bins, start off small first, probably by getting small boxes. Or you could do art activities with them with the stuff that you & your class have collected.

    Good Luck

  5. Do you have recycle bins? Encourage them to bring items from home to put in the bin or from their lunch. Offer a reward when bins are full. Then plan a trip to the recycling center.  Can you start a compost pile? A worm farm will fascinate them and lots to learn from one.
