My daughter is turning 8 years old and has asked for a sweet shoppe/candy store type party theme. We already have many dishes etc for displaying candies and treats. Doing sundaes and decorative cupcakes for the snack. I need activities to keep the kids busy that would go along with the theme. Any ideas?

  1. Good day,

Taffy pulls, decorate bags take candy home in.. I would limit the party to 1-30 hours. These kids are going to be on sugar high and bouncing off the walls...

  2. Do-it-Yourself Sundaes would be fun ... as would letting the girls decorate their own cupcakes.....     If you're creative, you could make a giant "Candyland" game out of craft paper, cardboard, where the girls would actually BE the game pieces and hop from square to square.  Ok, the game, itself, might be too young for them, but not if it were life-sized!

  3. Pinata? Blind fold the kids and have them taste candies who ever gets the most right wins a prize.. Have the kids write down as many different candies as possible in say 5 minutes and win a prize.. ummm.. Good luck! Candy party?!? The kids will be very energetic!

  4. Try picking up some chocolate dip, they sell it in the supermarket where the fruit is and  some apples, strawberries, bananas.  You heat up the chocolate in the microwave and they can dip their own fruit, put on wax paper and in a few minutes it dries to a regular chocolate shell.  Good way to get some fruit in with all the sweets!

  5. have them decorate their own cupcakes

have them build candy sculptures using clay and cheap candy.

    or my personal: candy portraits.

buy lots of cheap candy of many different textures and colors, shapes and sizes. give each child a disposable paper plate and glue. they are to make their own portrait using just candy glued to the dish. its lots of fun, takes up about two hours and kids love it!
